Joanna Banks

Joanna has spent most of her life in newsrooms or on sets. The daughter of a journalist and an actor, she was bitten by the
producing bug early. She attended Cardiff University’s Journalism, Film, and Television program in Wales and started her career with British broadcaster Westcountry Television. Before creating Sixpence Studios in 2008, Joanna worked for CBS 42 KEYE in Austin, Texas, where she also attended St. Edward’s University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Communications. Joanna’s photography career started in high school, shooting for the local newspaper. It later continued at Florida State University, where she shot for the student magazine “Shout.” Her passion for photography reasserted itself in 2010 as traditional video cameras were replaced by DSLRs for filmmaking projects. Experienced event industry business owner with a demonstrated history of working in the media production and broadcasting industries.
