Profile
At The Tillerman, the goal is to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. This inn, restaurant, and event space has been restored from its 1790s roots and is filled with the small, meaningful details that give it a distinctive sense of place.
At the center of the property is a 125-year-old barn surrounded by trees, flowers, and outbuildings, creating a quintessential rustic Vermont setting. The atmosphere blends old New England character with touches of Northern California, a flower market, a farmers market, and the warmth of a close-knit community. If you love places that feel a little off the beaten path, you may find it hard to leave.
The inn features seven comfortable bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, accommodating up to 19 guests. Expect wood floors, wool rugs, colorful artwork, heavenly beds, and an emphasis on natural materials and comfort.
Food is sourced with care from local farms, producers, vendors, makers, and ranchers, with a focus on simple, rustic dishes made with high-quality ingredients. Dining at The Tillerman feels like being invited to dinner at the home of a friend who also happens to be an exceptional cook and host.
Everyone is welcome at The Tillerman. Couples and guests of all races, disabilities, ages, sexual orientations, religions, and languages are embraced here. If you’re looking for a warm, character-filled Vermont setting where you and your guests can settle in and feel at home, The Tillerman would love to welcome you.
