Meet Our Members

Name:  Perrin Williams

Business:  Vermont Cake Studio

Specialty:  Wedding and celebration cakes

Location:  Waterbury

What is your background?
I have been baking for 14 years and we are going into our forth season at the studio. I apprenticed in Waitsfield before continuing to California Culinary Academy in San Francisco to finish my education. The Bay Area was a wonderful place to learn how to cook because of the extended growing season and the variety of fresh ingredients at your finger tips. I've brought that experience back to Vermont Cake Studio where we grow our own herbs and put up our neighbors apples, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries. Our goal is to have delicious pastries made year round with local fruit.

How long have you been working in Vermont?
On and off for all of my life. I started out at The Warren Store during high school and college and ended up at The Trapp Family Lodge before starting my own business. There were 12 years in California and Boston in between but I had to get traveling out of my system!

Favorite downtime activity:
Going out to dinner with my husband and snow shoeing with our dog Maggie.

What do you enjoy about the Vermont wedding industry?
The camaraderie and the friends I've made among my colleagues. I am constantly amazed by the amount of talented people involved with weddings in Vermont! It is a fabulous place to live and once you visit you won't want to leave!
