What is your background?
Two friends, doing what we love, providing flowers for a very special occasion... your wedding. At Just Weddings you inspire us to create arrangements that fit your style, setting and budget. We are a team of two Vermont-based floral designers, each bringing a different aspect of design to the table. We have both studied with Ned Davis at the Vermont Academy of Floral Design, and numerous other floral design professionals. We’ve worked and learned with local florists as wedding designers for more than a decade. Katherine is also an Interior Designer and Marriam has won several floral awards. Together we complement each other to bring the best of both, for you and your special day. We strive to be a ''green business''and whenever possible, buy flowers with VeriFlora certification. Our plant waste is composted and non-recyclable material is reused as often as possible.

Favorite downtime activity:
Katherine, originally a California gal, lives with her husband, two dogs, two horses, and a cat on a mini-farm in Charlotte. When not enjoying time spent in the flower garden, you will find Katherine foxhunting or dreaming of the beach and flip flops! In her spare time, she also loves to create unique jewelry pieces. Marriam lives in Colchester with her husband and 2 toddler girls. With a Masters in Applied Psychology, she has chosen to let her creative side get the better of her, and pursue the American Dream. Flowers are her passion. When not designing with flowers, you will find Marriam making sugar flowers for her cakes, playing with the girls or working off those cake calories in the gym!

What do you enjoy about the Vermont wedding industry?
We like best the multitude of beautiful venues, the resources available to us and the unlimited potential for growth. We have enjoyed great relationships with all the people with whom we have worked and there is a wide variety of locally produced goods. Be it a spring wedding full of scented blossoms, a summer wedding with fields and fields of wild flowers, a fall wedding with unbelievable foliage colors, or a winter wonderland wedding - Vermont provides the perfect magical backdrop.
