What is your background?
I have been photographing since I was 12 and was given my grandfather's SLR. I went on to get my BA and MA in Fine Art Photography on the West Coast. I studied under Ansel Adams and Ruth Bernhard. For several years I had a studio in Hollywood shooting fashion and advertising. In 1987 my family and I moved to Vermont and I began shooting weddings, the landscape and the lifestyle of Vermont. I began a greeting card company, Haymaker Card and Gift which still wholesales to a variety of New England gift shops and bookstores including my own, Haymaker Card and Gift Gallery (www.haymakerpress.com)

How long have you been working in Vermont?
I moved here in 1987 from Los Angleles and been shooting ever since (less fashion than LA…more moose and mountains and weddings!)

Favorite downtime activity:
Kayaking , serious loon watcher, hiking, wandering on backroads, reading, dinners with friends, family.

What do you enjoy about the Vermont wedding industry?
A big feature is how many outdoor weddings there are… people here love to incorporate the beauty of Vermont in their special day. Also the food and cakes have become very creative and the number of fantastic musicians is amazing. But most of all I love the creative energy about every aspect of putting on a wedding!
