What is your background?
I feel extremely fortunate to have been a fashion model in Milan, Italy for over a decade, for Giorgio Armani, Franco Moschino, the Missoni's, along with other designers and beauty ''gurus' of that time, from whom I learned an incredible amount about how clothes fit, how lighting works for photography, how makeup works in different lighting conditions (real life versus studio), how the creative process around a fashion show or a photo shoot takes place. Today, I'm able to share what I learned, the concepts, the tricks of the trade, in my work as a makeup artist, stylist, personal shopper and fashion consutant.

How long have you been working in Vermont?
Since Spring of 2004; Organic Beauty started in 2006. When I chose the name Organic Beauty, I did so with the idea that beauty is organic to who we are, who each of us is, and how each of us perceives what is beautiful. Beauty is truly an individual and personal experience.

Favorite downtime activity:
Being out and about in this incredible state, meeting and learning more about its people, its hidden treasures, its incredible artesan foods (bread, cheese, wine, organically grown vegetables), it - and let's not forget antique-ing! Having grown up in Florida, I'm an outdoor person with a preference for water and water sports (therefore summer) - so I'm a newbie at mastering snow conditions, but nobody can take the beauty away of a gorgeous Vermont winter wonderland.

What do you enjoy about the Vermont wedding industry?
All the people who make up this incredibly strong and creative industry and it's positive economic impact on our state. .....One Saturday I was driving along, on my way to provide makeup for a bride ''on-location'' at her wedding venue, and I realized that on any given weekend, there are hundreds of weddings taking place up and down this state at beautiful and varied venues, and therefore there are hundreds of incredible photo shoots taking place, whose purpose is to capture each bride's wedding day story. When I speak with brides about how I approach my services, I like to tell them that they are, if they don't mind thinking in these terms, the editor of the photo shoot of their lives; they've very carefully chosen the clothes, the setting, the photographer, the players, the flowers, the lighting, the music, all of the details. They've done all the hard work that a fashion editor would do for an editorial spread! What will remain from this incredible day are the photos and so special care should be given to the choice of photographer who is able to capture the feeling of your wedding from start to finish. And special attention should be paid to hair and makeup, since the bride is the protagonist of this shoot! Brides (and their wedding party) should be able to look fabulous (and feel fabulous) walking down the (grassy) aisle, and they should look fabulous in their photos. An expert makeup artist can make sure this takes place, while being responsive to the needs and wishes of the bride.
